The Black Point Disposal Site project, completed for Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), examined multi-year high resolution multibeam data. The multibeam data were collected from over 20 surveys at the Black Point Dredged Material Site since 2000. The bathyemetric data were normalized and compared for volumetric changes at the site. The finding from this analysis were presented to Environment Canada in 2011.
In 2016, Tekmap Consulting undertook a further multibeam analysis to determine current site capacity. For this project, Tekmap developed custom software that calculated volume used, remaining capacity, and site boundary based upon a pre-determined seafloor slope. The site capacity will be used by ECCC as part of the long-term management plan for the site.
